- Shipping
-
Insured express courier, door to door, typically three to five working days including customs. Parcels are declared at invoiced value and insured for the same.
Tracking and the full document set reach you by email before the parcel lands, so your broker or the courier's brokerage can clear it on arrival.
- Duties and taxes
-
Loose polished diamonds (HS 7102) carry 0% duty. Finished jewellery of precious metal (HS 7113) carries 2% under the UK Global Tariff. Import VAT of 20% applies to both.
VAT-registered jewellers can use postponed VAT accounting and declare the import VAT on their return rather than paying at the border. We quote the goods landed and show duty and VAT separately.
- Compliance
-
The UK prohibits diamonds of Russian origin, including stones of 0.50 ct and above processed in third countries. Every parcel carries a declaration of non-Russian origin and the supporting evidence, including Kimberley Process references where relevant.
GIA or IGI reports accompany centre stones and pairs. Lab-grown goods are declared as lab-grown on the invoice and the parcel.
- Hallmarking
-
Under the Hallmarking Act, articles described as gold over 1 g, platinum over 0.5 g, silver over 7.78 g or palladium over 1 g must carry a UK hallmark before they are sold in the UK. Pieces are supplied assay-ready for submission to the London, Birmingham, Sheffield or Edinburgh Assay Office, with the fineness stamp already applied.
If you hold a sponsor's mark with an Assay Office, tell us and we build the submission into the delivery.
